Just had to get a post in July for this site. Thought it might cool me off.

Perfect timing. Huge band of thunderstorms moving through canoe country right now, bringing cooler and drier temps. Lows in the forties this weekend. Not winter . . . just right for summer.

Hot and humid tonight. Thanks for the cooling thought. Wondered who was posting in the winter forum in July. :)

Nothing like being on your skis on a sunshiny day on a snowy lake in the BWCA.

Slapped a coat of varnish on a couple pair of shoes this week. I have two pairs to go and I'll be ready for some cold weather.

Sounds like the old wooden and lace snowshoes. Good for you.
I mainly use a couple of modern snowshoes now,but still have my Michigan style 48 x 14 wooden, they are a lot prettier and they have much better flotation. Like the binding better on the new snowshoes tho.

After last year's winter lasting through May here in Iowa, I thought I'd never say it, but this summer has been extremely desert like... I cannot wait for winter! My grass is literally blowing away... I gave up on my garden plants last week. Done.
