I meant to get over that way more on my forty day last fall but didn't. How far west are you going. the lakes are long so a wind can be a bugger, but that is some great area. I remember the Royal River being a pretty area and seeing my first Moose in the BW up that way. I also remember there being boats on the Canadian side... not a big deal. Great trip in a great time of year.

Thinking about going thru the fowls to Moose camping there and day tripping to Mountain or I might make the loop back to Little John.

Full moons are cool and then they're good for fishing. That's a great time to go.

Hope you have a great trip.

John lake can see some illegal parties and noisy crowds so I would avoid it unless you hit it during the week.

Paddling in on a Thursday and coming out on a Tuesday won't be around there on the weekend.

Good move, my buddy was up there with his Dad this Spring so he couldn't really do anything about it. His dad is elderly so he had to portage most of the gear. He still had a good time.

John is a nice lake it's just that you can get some locals partying obviously.

Had a great trip even with the rain and thunder, EP70 is a pretty area, the fishing was slow but the exploring was great had more fun doing that then fishing, having a waterfall almost in your campsite was cool and different, it was only after all the rain when it appeared and with the Moon being almost full made the nights lighter and awesome Moon rises. Here's a few pictures. Plus I broke my new yoke on the first portage on the way out and fix it with a stick, 2 flat rocks and black tape and I only took 438 photos.

And I only seen 6 people in 6 days, 2 on the last portage on the way in, 2 the 4th day canoed by and 2 at the last lake on the way out, a very peaceful trip.

Looks great, love the camp waterfall!

You should take some pics of the yoke now that you are home, I'd love to see and hear how it failed, helps us know what to look for when buying or making gear.

I think I made it to thin and to narrow it broke on the first portage coming out, I'm bringing it to wingnight, there's one picture above of it with my repair.

Put in at Little John and went thru John lake to the Royal river to North Fowl to Moose lake, I just Base camped at Moose lake for 6 nights and explored the area, this fall I'm going to make a loop in the same area. Very pretty area and not many people in the fall. The Royal river can be little tricky with the wild rice.
