Gonna be in the Shell Lake area soon. Any fishing experience you'd like to share on the lakes in this area would be much appreciated....

Check out Lynx Lake. There's a great campsite on the north side of the lake. The walleye fishing on the north west shoreline was good for us - some size. Decent swimming beach at the portage to Ruby. And you can do some exploring up Yodler Creek. Enjoy!

Had success all around trolling fire tiger raps. West shoreline of Little Shell produced eyes outside weed line. On shell the reef in front of little shell portage produced eater size eyes. Fish the drop off immediate to the entrance of Lynx from Little Shell for eyes.

Little bay by the portage to Heritage..just outside the weedlines. There is a hump on that flat too....if you can find it.

Don't overlook Little Shell for fishing. We did well on walleyes under near-shore structure (fallen trees with leaves/needles still on them) with jigs and twister tails/gulp leeches while we were there in the past. You can also catch smallmouth bass to your hearts content where the creek from Little Shell empties into Shell from the rocks along shore. We didn't get any big ones, but it sure was fun sight-fishing them with an ultra lite.

I will be there this weekend, and should be able to provide some suggestions after I get back based on the feedback I have received from others on here.

I have fished Shell a couple times before with no real luck, but we weren't fishing too hard those times.

well, we had very good fishing on shell, heritage and little shell. mostly smallies and walleyes. a few northerns. our group caught several smallies and walleyes on the north end of shell, near our campsite (57), between con island and the mainland. caught numerous large smallies on the north end of heritage, near the campsite. lot's of smallie action on the east side of little shell.

Do not pass up the stream from the north end of Shell going to Heritage.
Both ends provided good fishing last May.

PS; Oooops, to late for ya Mike, but sounds like you did well in the same areas Pete and I fished! bh

We fished Lynx this weekend. There was a lot of small walleye and bass action by the boulders in the south and in front of the campsite on the South East. Nothing big though. Leeches jigged on the bottom and slip-bobbers produced the most fish.

We fished Shell this past weekend, decent walleyes on the west side of Con Island and monster northern in the saddle between the island across from Con and the shore on the other side.

Going in here this Sunday. Good info in this thread. Anybody want to share anything current? I'm bringing leeches in on this trip. I always goof it up losing them, but this isn't too many portages till we find a home. Maybe a few will make the trip and want to play this year. Looks like a real nice area. My son and I this year. Sweet!

I fell in love with jig fishing for eyes on a trip last week of May. It is addicting. I can't wait to drop one down. Thanks!
