Just got back tonight from a 5 night solo to the Q. It was a great time, only my third solo. Did not see anyone for 3 of the days.
I really appreciate all of the advice and information in regard to solo tripping I picked up on this forum. It really did help me enjoy myself.
I tend to be a type A traveler in life and in the Quetico and had mapped out a very ambitious trip. On day three I kept thinking of people on this forum talking about slowing down, being careful and just enjoying being there. I adjusted my route as a result and it clearly was a good decision.
Once I slowed down I really began to enjoy myself. I had gone up Agnes, over to Silence and then up through Hurlburt, Payne and Williams. I changed my route when I hit Keewatin and did not head north the way I intended. I headed south down Agnes and went through East and Jeff and North Bay. Still some good miles but not quite what I had planned.
But, again, once I turned south on Agnes and slowed down I really did have fun. I explored the east side of Agnes, got out to check out a few campsites, hugged the shore just to see what I could see and simply took pauses to look and listen.
Thanks for all of the help making my solo a success.

Sounds great GC! Your trip seems to have put you in a great state of mind, both on the trip and after. I look forward to your trip report and some pics.

I leave in a couple of days for my Quetico solo trip. Needless to say, I'm jacked!

You gotta stop and smell the moss.
You gotta count the many jackpines along the way.
You're gonna find the portage path is a rough and rocky road
if you don't stop and smell the moss along the way.

Great post. I to had found that slowing a bit and sometimes just a minute or two pause here and there produced the longest most vivid memories of my trip.
