Anyone given any thoughts to wolf hunting the BWCA? I would really like to try it next year. Find some old logging trails and try calling.

That would make for one fine trophy. We saw 2 sets of tracks on the boardwalk between Kelly and Jack last year when moose hunting but did not hear or see any while we were there. Also while predator calling you might get a surprise visit from a bobcat. I'm not sure about the trapping regs in the BW but running a little line could chew up some time between calling. You would have no problem getting a few mink and beaver.

I think it would be an interesting hunt for sure. This past summer and the prior fall we were camped at Clark Lake and watched two wolves swim across the narrows, and howl all night. It was really cool to watch. My father and I had done a PMA route a few years ago and while we were fishing we heard a large crash on the shore line of Sunday Lake. It was a deer running as fast as it could and there was a wolf right on its tail! The deer turned back into the forest and a second wolf which was running parallel slammed right into the doe. All three were just out of sight but we could hear the food chain working... It is one of the most amazing things to have witnessed.

Wolf hunting, yes but not in the bdub. A family friend has land near I Falls and he constantly has them on his trail cams. Last week he sent out a video of a three legged bear he caught on a trail cam.

That is interesting. Three legged bear, any clues as to the missing limb?
