This is my twin girls having dinner in the BWCA. They are experienced BWCA campers and are able to take the canoe and manage the fishing from baiting hooks and removing fish. I am very proud of them!

We spent some time there resting and enjoying the peaceful sounds of the water.
How many times have we passed spots like this and not enjoyed them because we had to hurry and get to the other end of the portage.
I {we} need to slow down and enjoy.

I remember that image from paddling Horseshoe this August... The looong finger that this picture is taken from was so windy, and the wind was in the opposite direction. We're all relatively weak and noobie paddlers so it was TOUGH after 4-5 hours of paddling with no breakfast... the portage at the end of the finger is rough too
