First off, good luck to all who are going out this weekend for deer opener. Be SAFE!

If any of you score a large animal that you are not mounting, I'm in need of a cape for my buck I shot three years ago. The cape was ruined and I'd still like to have it mounted. I could order one but don't have the extra cash now.

Thanks and Happy Hunting!

Do you think this one will work? He has been bouncing around my woods for a while now. I'll give him a few days before I take him though. I'll be looking for a bigger one but this guy will do if nothing else shows up. If I get him or a bigger one, I'll let you know.

Good luck to you all tomorrow.

I suppose now I have to pass all the bucks until I see the one now.

I think that guy would be fine or a bigger one. At this point I can't be real picky. I had a friend send a pic of one they got today but it didn't have the white under the neck. ??

Only saw 2 does so far.

Too small to help you. Got a yearling buck today, which I am happy. Maybe next year.

I have in the past donated my capes to individuals who needed one, especially to my friend who had both antlers of a super large set of shed antlers.

I did get a bigger one. I nice big 10 pointer which was new to my land. In 35 years or so of my going deer hunting he is one of the biggest deer I have ever seen. Biggest deer I have ever shot. I wish I would have brought him into Mills Fleet Farm buck contest. The rack is nice but not the best I have ever taken. He was missing two tines on the left side which was opposite of the side I was sighting him in at. I just got home last night and am going back up tomorrow morning. Don't have any photos on this computer to post but will get to it next week. I hope your friend can hook you up with the cape as this one will not be available. I would not mount it myself but a friends niece wants to try her taxidermy skills on it. She has been getting into it the last few years and is getting pretty good. This would be her first deer.
