Below is a video of our recent winter camping adventure. We had some struggles along the way but overall it was a great trip.

Were you IN the BWCAW? Or just by it?
I wonder what the USFS would think of the MN DNR going in on snow machines...?

We were camping on WOOD LAKE when all 3 pulled up. I was wondering the same thing when I saw them pulling up because snowmobiles are not allowed in the BWCAW. I guess they can...

Nice video. Like yer setup too. Never had heard of Seek Outdoors equipment. Thanks for showing. Also liked that titanium stove they had.

One observation: glass isn't allowed in the BWCA. This is what I use for packing in my evening libations. Nalgene Flask

Thanks for your report.

That's interesting that the DNR swung through. Did they mention any specific tasks, evacuations, etc? I wasn't aware they could legally use snowmobiles-except maybe in emergency situations. That being said I was camped on Daniels Lake on the Gunflint side of things and saw snowmobile tracks there too. I assumed it was some wilderness poachers but could have been DNR making the rounds. I will say that I was thankful for the trail they packed:)

your video makes me wish I had one of those gopros dealies

Entertaining video. I second the warning about bringing glass containers in the BWCA. Transfer your libations into plastic.

Very NICE.......I really want to do that some day.

A buddy of mine, CHMS and his son did a dogsled trip a few years ago and he loved it. They slept out under the stars a couple times right on the ice. They said it was one of the most spectacular things ever.

Hopefully, sometime.

Possible explanation for DNR on snowmobiles in BWCA on January 11th.

Illegal snowmobiling
