I just reserved a couple nights in zone one of this pma. I read the original topic, but the last post was from 2012 and a lot of "want to" and "going to" sort of posts. I plan on entering from Neewin Lake. Has anybody been into this area in the last couple years? If so, I saw on an older map a marked site on Niswi Lake, does the site have a fire grate or latrine? Any other advice is welcome as well. Thanks!

My maps are at work, so I will wait to comment on the area, but PMA's in general have had fire grates and latrines removed from campsites. Go back and dig a cat-hole, with regards to the first, and make fire (if you need to) in a safe substrate, for the second. PMA's are great, but they will not have the amenities of other Bdub sites. The whole idea is to have a less-maintained area for those who are willing to go it a bit rougher in the name of solitude. I like 'em, though they generally comprise only a part of our trips. PS, you may well be able to SPOT the campsite, but grate and latrine are likely to have been removed... Enjoy!

the latrines, if there, are usually the old wood ones and have rotted. Never count on them. No new ones were ever put in.
Sometimes you find fire grates....with trees growing up through them.
Stove cooking is advised anyway.
Can't speak specifically for those 2 lakes though.
