That would obviously be Phil Cotton (I think he is Wabakimimaps, on here). I don't know the answer to your question, but I would put good money that Phil Cotton has studied and used more maps on that area than anyone else. He does employ GPS, but he also dips well into the past for route histories and older maps.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but there is an option to get gps files downloaded off of this.

Access is free but I think you have to buy the gps files and you can search anywhere for a map -- it works like googleearth. Just a thought.

all maps of Wabakimi are based on the same old data that was collected before WWII. The difference is, WP maps have been recently paddled so if they show a portage or campsite there is a high probability of it being there. The tree across the tent pad will be a recent addition.
