I think I'm going to make my PMA trip in the fall but not sure where. I've been in beartrap, spider, mugwump want to try somewhere new any suggestions. Like to fish and probably would camp in the PMA so it could be a loop through a PMA

Wish I could help, but this is my 1st PMA, if everything goes good I will do another one in the fall, always fun trying new stuff.

I'm still thinking about it, maybe I'll get some ideas at copia

Have you been into Sora? That looks like the best multiple lake PMA to me.

That does look like an interesting area. Those fellows in the trip report (that Bumabu references, hexnymph and company) sure covered some ground in that 8 day trip! Hairy Lake PMA is in my notes from when I went over the PMA's in pipedream mode. So is Pitfall PMA, about which see some threads on this forum. Either of these is going to take some brushcrashing for a through-route...
Tom and I are aiming a bit more modest, this July. We are doing an entry at Mudro, then to Beartrap, Sunday, Sterling... want to do more walleye fishing, this go-round... so copying your lead from your last summer's trip, though not exactly the same loop. From Sterling, not sure if we'll come out by Beartrap River north or try the challenging route west to Stuart. Either way, will likely loop clockwise via Crooked and back south by Wagosh/ Fairy.
Safe travels to Madison, Mike. I'm aiming to head up there some time on Friday.

Ray you going to the party room Friday night? I'll be there and at the dinner Saturday evening

I spend a good deal of time with the Wabakimi Project folks, but I'm going to try and get to some of the BWCA.com stuff, too... maybe the Friday night get together? Am driving over on my own, this year, so I can hang through Sunday. Want to catch OldSalt and Wallee13 fishing talk, too.

Hi Mike, Sorry to miss you at the 'copeia, but it sounds like you had a good time with the BWCA.com group at Saturday dinner. I was mainly with the Wabi Project folks, and they told me to look for a big guy with a red shirt, but I didn't spot you. Was able to catch Jerry's Saturday show and the fishing talk on Sunday morning. Also, a good first aid talk on Sunday morning. Managed to keep the credit card mainly rested, except for a CCS canoeing pack to replace a leaky old canoe pack.
Fall will be a great time for a PMA trip (if water levels not too low).

Fall is a nice time. Colors are nice. Bugs arent bad it's just water levels. Last time i went in the fall only used my hammock one night others just slept under the stars, no tarp just sleeping bag kind of fun.

That's the best: just a groundcloth and the stars (and the occasional curious rodent...)
