Just confirmed reservations through Prairie Portage for Carp Lake entry on 6/25. Headed up the Man chain then the Falls chain to Kawnipi then back out through Agnes. That was my last Quetico trip and I look forward to seeing that area again. Nine nights out and excited indeed.

+1 (But it was end of day and we needed to find a campsite. Got one close to the creek mouth and paddled back up it a ways in the evening.) --Goose

Thanks for the input. I had hoped some sage wisdom about special places would be shared. This past weekend I was able to pick up some good fishing and campsite tips on Kawnipi from Wally13. This forum is so great.

Permethian sprayed nearly all the gear and bagged, hung to dry and packed over the past two weekends. Dry food repackaged and packed yesterday. Perishable to some extent packed for a trial run this morning and about an 8 mile paddle. Magic tracks well with the load. Pioneer pack with duffel and chair weighs in at about 67 pounds, canoe and bushcrafter pack weighs in about the same. About 25 pounds of food in the bushcrafter. Carried everything around the block assuring a two portage with hands free.

Photo is feeder creek to Big Creek Lake, nice place to paddle just north of me. The duffel carries camera, fishing tackle, binoculars, misc. gear I want easy access to. It fits under the flap of the pioneer for portages. The bushcrafter is under my hat.

I am so ready and two weeks to go. I have had too many trips where last minute rush stressed me. This is so much better.
