Not a great shot but means something to me. After a long winter and now a month out from my mom's passing I "found" a few hours to walk a snowmobile trail that goes through a huge public hunting area with a trout stream. Spent a couple of hours alone in the woods and it did wonders. I didn't take many shots but of those I did this one exemplified the blue skies and beauty of the day to me.

Monday april 7, 5:49am. this photo doesn't do the view justice. the fog and absolute stillness was deafening.
the wood peaking out from under the snow is the dock cribbing. there is at least 2 feet of snow on the lake. I know this because one of my legs went in to just above my knee.

quote Mocha: "was it worth staying up or getting up at 1am for the lunar eclipse?"
NO...rather boring. I was painting till then anyway so I went outside a couple of times...
For sure the Moonrise earlier in the evening was way more spectacular.

quote Mocha: "was it worth staying up or getting up at 1am for the lunar eclipse?"I just happen to wake up at 3:30 and ran outside and took 4 pictures and posted 2 and then went back to bed, yes it was kind of cool seeing.
Out of control, extreme team.

My first attempt at HDR. The first pic came right out of the camera, the 2nd image is three images combined into one. 1 over exposed, 1 under exposed, and one properly exposed. I know this doesn't have anything to do with the Bdub but it does have something to do with photography :-). I'm in the learning process and I know there are several of you pros in here so let the critiques fly, it's the only way I will learn.

housty>> I love rocks like this!!! don't you just wonder what happened to the rest of it?
the fun thing with this shot is if you enlarge it you can see so much water and where it's coming from. this eventually floods the entire ditch area until the culvert under the road to larch creek. the whole area is more like a pond right now.

the freshly fallen snow was absolutely gorgeous this morning. then the wind started and blew all the snow off the trees, it's warmed up and it's still snowing.
this view is known as "high cliffs" and I'm blessed enough to see this every day.
for a little snowbound trivia: the tree is the same tree in the first photo of this month I posted with the eagle. can you spot the branch?
