What book on tape should I get to put my dad and I in the northwoods spirit for our drive up to our outfitters next month. Anything in the spirit of adventure, camping, the northwoods would be appreciated. Thanks!

Anything written by Sigurd Olsen..Listening Point would be a good choice, if it's on tape. Sig captures the spirit of the Northland.

You might want to try River of Doubt...it's about Teddy Roosevelt's run down the Rio de Duda in the Amazon. Not exactly about the BWCA, that's for sure, but it's a great story that'll get you excited for a bit of wilderness travel.

This may be a little late but Call of the Wild works for us. It's now a tradition to listen to Call of the Wild on the way up to Ely.
