We spent a night on Raven during our 6-night trip (had a PMA permit.) The site at the end of the portage was to windy and open for the weather, which was rainy, windy, and cold. We made do with a low/no impact site along the north shore. The next day was still a little windy, but we did some fishing and enjoyed watching them cruise in 2 feet of water and attack the mayflies.
There were no footprints before us and we may have been the first into the lake this year? Nothing to report wildlife-wise except for some moose prints on a portage and some wolf scat.
Some moose sign in the Boulder/Adams area as well as the portage from Boulder to Cap.
The portage into Raven was clear, and the water was very high.
The weather was to crappy and I was to wet to bother taking a walk to Elk Lake and check it out. Maybe next time.
