Just finished watching the movie, "The Legend of Baggar Vance". My spirit is almost always stirred in the direction of God's plan for my life when I watch this movie. It's not the same as being in the wilderness and having my mind open up to God there, but there are some movies that stir my soul in a similar way. I suppose my list is a weird list but it would also include Gladiator, Field of Dreams, and pretty much any horse movie- Secretariat, Man from Snowy River, etc. What movies stir your soul?

This may sound odd, but Platoon was my favorite of those such movies. I thought the struggle for the soul of Charlie Sheen's character between two father figures in one of the most spiritually devastating wars of our time was brilliantly put on cinematic display by Oliver Stone. I tend to favor those where after complete devastation, hope is found through the most unlikely of candidates and faith is found again. The book of Eli is a prime example.
Of course their are so many others that stir the soul just as music can, but I believe that it is not just the movie or song but it is in how we view them. I tend to see miracles in every day living, and I definitely see God's work everywhere I go, yet when I try to discuss these things with the people around me they chalk it up to coincidence or push it aside as serendipity.
I have learned that the how doesn't matter, just as long as you hear Him.

quote TuscaroraBorealis: "Looking forward to seeing 'Risen'. I believe it's coming out February 19th?"
My wife and I have just returned from seeing the film Risen that came out today. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is the most biblically accurate film I have ever seen. Sure it had a couple small details that I might have done differently but nothing objectionable. It also wasn't "preachy" like so many Christian films sometimes are. But it also makes one fact abundantly clear :
HE IS RISEN ! ! !
