Does anyone have any experience with the two options of going into disappointment lake from snowbank?

No, they go to the other portage. I have gone there the last 5-6 years.

Who should we contact for an overnight stay before we head into Snowbank?

Stayed there 30 years ago, nice place than and I am sure it still is a quality place.
Probably a little more expensive than a place in town, but your right there for a starting place and probably could leave your vechile there.
Worth checking out the prices?

I just made a reservation about $100 for 3 guys. Not bad! We made dinner and breakfast reservations. Thanks for the tip about leaving the truck there.

We were just up there this weekend winter camping on Disappointment for a couple nights, came in through Snowbank. We snowshoed in, but the trail was so packed we just walked out in our boots. A group came through dogsledding following our tracks and came back by the end of the day. Got a couple smallmouth bass and a decent pike. There is a snowplowed trail halfway down snowbank to some icehuts, so pretty easy walking there. There were three spots of open water, one on snowbank, the others on Disappointment.
