It's probably a long shot, but we are hoping to meet up with a family with kid(s) to join us for camping. We have a 7 year old daughter, and she would really enjoy having another kid to play with on our wilderness outings. Ideally, we would like to meet someone near Madison, WI to be able to get to know each other (for example, by car camping) before canoe camping or backpacking together. However, I suppose we could meetup somewhere else.

Check out my trip report from last year if you want to read about our trip and see pictures.

oh man that is to far for us to drive. But we have a 6,9 and 10 year old who love to camp with other kids.

cycle003, Just a suggestion on another way to go about it: Perhaps pick your lake/EP and post here. Then see if anyone else is going in there on that week or weekend. Arrange a "meetup" or just extend the invitation here for anyone to paddle over for a cup of coffee and introductions! I think we all look for other families to paddle with but getting on someone else's schedule can be tricky not mention the social aspects of camping with other families. We've had good luck but then we have also had to do many trips on our own and hope for seeing other families somewhere along the route. That has worked as well. Look forward to seeing you out there (come over for coffee and intros anytime!)

I suppose that's not a bad idea, but the BW is such a small portion of our tripping and camping that it would be nice to find someone local-ish for other trips. Also, it seems that the logistics of BW trips are so complicated/uncertain it would be difficult to arrange a meetup.

Anyway, we have a permit for Kawishiwi (EP 37) for Aug. 16.
