Any exciting hunts planned for this fall? I drew a cow elk tag for Wyoming. This will be my fourth hunt in the Cowboy State. Elk meat always gets used up quickly in our house.

An elk hunt is on my bucket list. I have a few friends that have done it over the years and they have shared some of their elk meat with me. Its one of the best meats I've had. Nothing better than a nice bacon wrapped elk medallion on the grill.

Do you do guided hunts or do you go the DIY type hunt on public land?

I'd have to go the DIY route since a guided trip is not in my budget.

where in wyoming are you heading? I moved out to wyoming 4 years ago. I'm hoping to draw an elk hunt in area 38 this year. northern bighorns.

I had all our gear organized, guns sited and 10 days of vacation time all booked until the lakes froze on us a few days before Deer opener last year. I'm Hoping this is the year myself and my teenage boy will be able to do our rifle hunt in the BWCA. I know its nothing compared to an Elk hunt in the mountains but it will be as close as I'll get to my dream hunt until I get these kids raised and out of my house.

Ive got a co-worker who hunts the general area around Saratoga, he has consistantly brought very nice bulls home. And some of the photos he brings back are amazing! have fun!
