People sometimes ask about lines, leaders, and tippets. I thought it would be interesting for people to list what gear they use. Here is my current lineup:
Floating Line:
Scientific Anglers Mastery Textured Titan Sinking Line:
Rio Outbound Sink Tip T8 8-wt Leaders:
Rio Bass Leader 10-lb Tippet:
Maxima Chameleon 10-lb Wire Tippet:
Surflon Micro Supreme Camo 13-lb Backing:
Rio 20-lb Orange Notes:
The SA Textured Titan line is best for very fast action rods and would be a bit much for a medium action rod.
The T8 sink tip sinks like a stone and can be used for walleyes at times. A great trolling line. Can easily go down to 15 feet with casting. Will sink too fast in shallower conditions.
The Chameleon tippet is brown and great for stained water or with sinking line.
The Surflon wire is expensive but worth it. Knots very easily. I use a double uni to attach to leader and a loop knot to attach fly.
