Woooow. I haven't posted in the forums since 2011. Gosh it feels good to be back. I've been tooling and poking around here for the past couple months though, doing my due diligence and what not.
On Saturday morning my trip partner and I embark on a 7 day Q trip. Outfitting through Seagull we will get a tow up to American Point, visit Janice and then head in. Instead of going the traditional route taking a left into the Falls Chain, we are going right through Saganagons, up through Cullen and Mack, down the Wawiag and through Kawa Bay, then down Kawnipi and exiting back out through the Falls Chain. We did this same route in 2012 and it was probably one of the best canoeing trips I've ever been on. The fishing on Mack was unlike anything I've ever experienced. We hit Mack about 5 hours before a storm system rolled in and we couldn't have our lures in the water for more than 15 seconds before pulling up a walleye, and no eyes under 20". We ran into Moose with babies on Cullen, woke up to wolves howling in Kawa Bay, and even saw a couple black bears in the Falls Chain.
I guess I really don't know why I'm posting this as I don't have any questions or anything ridiculously relevant to say other than the usual stuff. We're both healthy, fit, 29 yr old seasoned wilderness canoers (sp?) with 30+ plus trips to the Bdub and this will be our 3rd trip into the Q. Any comments, suggestions, or advice is always welcome and appreciated.
I feel like Bilbo Baggins when he's running out the door after the dwarves and he yells, "I'm going on an adventure!"
And just a reminder for good measure to all you bear enthusiasts out there...

Have a great trip!!! It will be like you never left 15 minutes after you hit the water.

Well you did a great job of hiding your excitement. That water is cold so be very careful, wear your PFD all the time, have a great fishing trip and try to get a trip report filed when you get back. FRED
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fourtune to remember the ones do, and the eyesight to tell the differance.

Wow, what trip. We had rain, snow, 30 degree cold, and even a couple mama moose with babies. Trip report and video compilation coming soon. Thanks for all the well wishes!
