I'm going this year but all previous partners have flaked out. So, I will go solo but would rather find someone as interested in fishing as much as me. My dates are flexible as are the number of days being in the BWCA. May is the usual time that I go up there with my brother, but co-workers beat me to the punch as far as vacation time this year, so needless to say, May is out of the picture
I live in the Chicago area and would like to have someone to share the drive or will meet up where we decide to enter the BWCA, or at the ranger station when I pick up the permit. If there might be a group of 3 I could hook up with that would be great as you wouldn’t have a crowded canoe or won’t have to rent one.

I'm 47 years old and I've been going to the Boundary Waters for about 30 years and have made more than 25 annual trips; some as much as 10 days. I enjoy going to the most remote regions and new spots. In the past we rarely repeated trips to prior areas..
My primary interest is fishing. My order of preference is Smallmouth, Walleye, Northern, Panfish.
The canoe I have is a Mad River Lamoille (18 ½ foot) and I have every bit of camping and fishing gear you could imagine. So, if you join me, you will only need personal gear, & a fishing license.
Interested persons may e-mail me at: menenmon@wowway.com

Updated dates for this fall-
Entering mid September for one week. Have narrowed the entry point(s) to either Baker Lake/EP #39, or Little Indian Sioux/EP #16. EP's are pending as I'm still checking for short(er) portages, and small(er) lakes(in case winds become too cumbersome) for good fishing. Still hoping for a trip partner/group, but just as content to go it solo.
Thanks to all that responded and if there are any suggestions for prior solo fishing trips, I'd love to review them.

Hey, I just stumbled across your post. Obviously this year is over, but I would be very interested in joining you next year, preferably in June. I'm in the St. Louis area and I could easily drive up to Chicagoland to meet you. I'm 51, and although I used to fish the BWCA as a teenager, I haven't been there in over 25 years. I would love to go back while I still can. In fact, I'd really like to see the Canadian side next time I go.

I hope your trip this year went well, and if you want to plan one for next year, let me know.

Tight lines!
