A trilogy comes to an end...
Late in 2011, I started planning and eventually writing my first published book, Fugitives from Northwoods. It was a long process, which was interrupted (in a good way) by an immersive summer 2012 trip to the B-Dub. That canoe trip with my son and other Boy Scouts and dads from his troop helped me really use the scenery to put the finishing touches on the book.
By some miracle, Krill Press bought the rights and brought Fugitives to the market by early 2013. Last year saw the release of book two, Rebellion in Northwoods.
After this year's release of a totally unrelated book, Game Changer, work began in earnest on putting the finishing touches on my trilogy. I'm thrilled to announce that Return to Northwoods is now available in ebook and will be in paperback in about 2-3 weeks.
It's been a long process in some ways, and one filled with plenty of learning about the business of writing, as well as about writing itself. Though I hesitate to talk about pride, I'm proud to say that I believe Return to Northwoods is my finest published work to date.
It's a strange feeling bringing a trilogy to an end. In some ways there's a sense of accomplishment that makes me wistful, and supremely thankful for all the help and kind words I've received over the last few years. My son is now an Eagle Scout, and our canoe trip is but a fond memory. It makes me sort of similarly sad to leave my beloved characters behind, and I hope they'll stay with you in some small way.
Here's a look at the cover.
As always, thank you for your support.

Thanks, Marty! I really appreciate your support.
I probably shouldn't say that one book is better than the other, but I feel the same way as you. Return was definitely my favorite.

quote MHS67: "Dang, more books to read! I will have to look these up. Thanks.
Congratulate your son for his accomplishment. From a former Scoutmaster.
Larry"
I will, Larry. Thank you. Life has gotten a little too busy for the boy lately, so he was thankfully motivated enough to make Eagle pretty early. He's almost 17 now. It's all about marching band, studying, and the girlfriend. I'm sad to not have much involvement with Scouting these days, though I still check in with the old troop every now and then. I definitely miss it a lot.

Thank you, Marty. I really appreciate it. It's great to know I have a few dedicated fans out there.
Hopefully you pick up a bunch of great books to get you through the winter. Murder Cove is probably going to be it from me for a little while. This year was a busy one with three new books. Hard to say what the future holds, but I'm thinking maybe just one or two next year.

Hi Chris! I lived in west and south county as well as south city for many years while I was teaching an coaching in Parkway, so I know where you come from. We communicated a couple years ago. I've been waiting for your books to come out in paperback at a cheaper price, and they are very hard to find at book stores, particularly now that I live in Winston-Salem, NC. Any news as far as that goes?

Hi Dave! Happy New Year! I hope retirement is going very well. You're not missing much excitement around St. Louis, I can tell you that much.
Sadly, there hasn't been much change on the paperback availability. I'm still waiting for some small degree of fame to strike and thus wider availability, but I'm thinking it's about the same odds as winning the Powerball. Barnes & Noble will order my books, if asked. Other than that, I don't know of any other store that commonly carries them in stock beyond the metro area here.
Thanks for asking. I sure wish I had better news.
Good to hear from you!
