It came about semi-last minute but I'll be headed in on my second solo this weekend. My first solo was 6 years ago and I came out early due to being wind-bound and bored. At that point, I had a decent amount of experience, but I've put another 10-12 trips under my belt since. I pledged at the time to move every day and to stay on small water the next time I planned a solo. I'll be headed into the Kawishiwi Triangle. Plan to move the first two days for sure and if I settle in, then I'll layover and day trip otherwise I'll keep on moving. Probably doing three nights.

Awesome! I did my first solo last fall and loved it. I did the Triangle and really liked it. I started from the South K River #32 EP and paddled all the way up to the North/South split and camped on an island. Next day I went across the North K branch and camped on Clear Lake on an island. Then I went back down the South K and camped at the site closest to the entry point for the 3rd night. I went into it with the same plan as you and then decided to just keep moving.
Have a great trip.

The trip was a success! I dodged storms all weekend and other than some rain while I was sleeping on Saturday night, I avoided rain until yesterday morning.
Was a short trip, but I went from Ojibwe Lake to Clear Lake via the North Kawishiwi entry point Saturday, then up the South Kawishiwi at bit Sunday, and then out to Ojibwe yesterday, just avoiding the storm that rolled through Ely late morning.
The whole area was surprisingly quiet. I saw or heard 8 different groups throughout the trip.
Also was nice to finally meet Lynn at VNO in person.
