That's right...mayo packets. Headed up to Ely from MSP and have struck out at the Target Deli counter twice. My 7 year puts mayo on most things....I'm not talking as if I need 3 or 4 packets. I need quite a few. Any trusted sources in or on the way to Ely? Just trying to avoid a bunch of stops in search of such a precious item! Thanks!

Never thought I'd post this but.....

Most fast food places have mayo packets. I've asked for a bunch when I stop for a meal on the way up north and have always gotten some. But then again I usually only need a few, if you need a couple dozen you may need to hit up several fast food places.

Yeah. I think that's where we'll end up...it's the quantity that annoys me....when your list is pretty much complete and this little thorn in the side that he'll complain about a bit. I just googled the message board. Some folks mentioned lunds and byerlys delis. here in the cities which is a good idea. Maybe I'll hit them in the morning....

Stop in your local eatery..burger joint, pizza place..where ever you know the owner/manager. They'll most likely be happy to order you a case. Might even give them to you at cost. They have a long shelf life.

We usually stop at Hinckley for them, it has kinda turned into a running joke. We get almost all of our condiments there.

I usually get mine from a gas station that has deli like sandwiches and other food like that. Otherwise Minimus.com

Subway is always a good place to pick up mayo packets. The high schoolers working the counter don't care. Just ask for a lot of mayo packets, then say more please.

Panera - my goto for mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper.

(BTW my favorite packet find was A-1 at Culvers.)

Minimus This isn't a quick fix, just for future reference.

That is what I do. I go to "Speedway" gas stations, buy a 12 pack of beer and then ask cashier if I can grab some mayo because I am going camping. They always say go ahead and then I grab as I much as I can and then grab some more. :)

I'll second the idea of just BUYING the packets. Either buy them at a retailer or from a local eatery.

For those suggesting just grabbing a handful here and there,,,,Really? just take them? These packets run about 20-22 cents each. If everybody that comes thru the door grabs 10 of those, who pays for them at the end of the day? Ten of those is more expensive than some candy bars, heck might as well grab one of those too! After all, the store owner doesn't care, right?

If you ask for some and they give some, no worries. But to just grab a whole handful for later use,,,,,I just don't agree.

They sell them at the deli in Zup's, in Cook so I'd have to assume that Zup's in Ely has them as well... horse radish sauce packets as well.

Thanks Everyone, I was curious about something like Zups so I don't feel strange about the very large handful!

I spend hundreds of dollars on beer at Speedway each year, not to mention the thousands of dollars in gas. Me grabbing a handful of mayo packets isn't killing their bottom line. If I quit buying beer and gas that might be another issue. I think they are winning on this one. If I was a store owner and someone buys a thousand dollars worth of product from me each year and asked if they can have a handful of mayo packets, I would hand them a bag and tell them to take as much as they need. You don't want your customer going somewhere else because you wouldn't give them some mayo packets. Customer satisfaction is key to retail.

Amazon sells all that stuff and they have a good selection.

Packit Goumet has mayo and much more. Try a couple dehydrated meals and notice the weight difference in your pack. They even have a cheeseburger roll up I like.

Back from trip. Zups has them in Ely (mustard, tarter sauce too).

A lot of your gas stops on the way up will have them stocked next to the coffee area (at least that is what people tell me :).

We are big mayo fans as well!

I used to grab a couple here and there throughout the year for my canoe trips. One day I opened one that had mayo that had turned back. I not sure what the shelf life is on these packets, but that definitely put a damper on my hording.

Supervised it has not been said yet but my calling requires me to frequent hospitals. Before I trip I will ask them if I can take many many extra and they look at me funny and say sure.

Your son may have outgrown the mayo packets, but Target Minnetonka has 10 packs of Hellmans real mayo to go packets. Probably not new, but first time I’ve seen them.

The Target by me has them also. I have also purchased many packets of condiments from Packit Gourmet. Chick-Fil-A is a good source also.

I bought a bunch online and tartar, too. I no longer feel comfortable "getting" them.
