My brother, our friend and I are headed up at the very end of September for a week. We typically go to the Q. This year we are having a debate about our plan. They both want to hunt partridge and ducks in the BW while we are there. I don't. My new suggestion is they hunt for a couple of days in the BW while I head out on a solo. A couple of days later, after ditching their hunting stuff on the Echo Trail, they will catch me at a predetermined lake. Then one of them will head out on a solo while two of us go wherever and meet the soloist a couple of days later. Then, of course, the last few days the third guy gets a few days to himself. I actually like the plan. A short solo but having traveling companions much of the time.
Sounds like a good plan if you all have skills and mental make-up for soloing. Make sure you have clear communication and know where everyone will be. In case someone just doesn't like being alone or in case there is a problem. Don't want to be playing "where's Waldo" if someone is sick or hurt. My 2 cents.
Without the bad times, the good times wouldn't seem so good.
