This year the Perseids the second week of August were to be great in the dark of the new moon. I tried to schedule a trip then, but with my crew's jobs, we went late July instead. Did anyone go and were the "shooting stars" great? Last time I was there at the right time, it was cloudy. Any viewing reports?
I scheduled my August Quetico trip around them. On the 11th, I was on Burt Lake and the shooting stars were constant. Some real bright, lingering ones too. The next night, peak night, I was on McIntyre and it was cloudy. But I kept on seeing them the following night.

I was 180 miles of Red Lake Ontario the 2nd week of August doing some walleye fishing and was hoping to see the Perseid Meteor Shower.
Had overcast nights for the most part that week but I did see quite a few bright shooting stars after midnight a couple nights when there were clear skies.
