Made my first (very short) solo this summer, and really can't wait to get out there longer next year. Started solo this summer before I met up with my parents on the third day. Just those two days made me appreciate things in such a different light... Aiming for a 6 or 7 day solo next year!

Of all the roads you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.

A week-long solo will give you time to get into the flow and plenty of time to ponder your place in the world. I hope it works out for you. Do you have any preliminary plans for an entry and route?

Not an entry and route yet, but wanting to do loop with a few rivers in it.

Sounds great! I was hoping to my first solo this fall, but two straight months of working on the road during the week squelched those plans. Next year I'm going to get on that in advance...& I'm not a big planner, so that's going to take some doing!
