My trusty dusty boundary waters buddy has gotten himself into a whole new mess of projects and has no time to get out this year. I'm a younger guy (26) am in great shape and am wondering if there are any other younger folks out there that need someone to explore canoe country with? I work a 7-on-7-off schedule, every other week is a good week to go fishing!

There is a separate trip partner forum but since you are on the solo forum I suggest you look seriously into going solo. With a 7-7 shift you will have lots of time that most others do not get at that age. it just takes a little different gear and confidence and you will open a whole new world.

I've been soloing forever that's the problem :P I need new buddies to camp up with for a day or 2 on my own trips, just to get your social itches out of the way for a week haha

Hopefully looking to do some tripping in May before an internship starts up, I'm 20 and wouldn't mind meeting up with someone for a few days during a solo!

quote Fizics: "I've been soloing forever. How have you been soloing "forever" when you are 26 years old?

I get what you are saying, on solos I sometimes wish I had a day or two to shoot the breeze with someone other than my alter ego.
One thought: Why limit yourself to "younger" traveling companions? Old guys know a lot and can be entertaining. A lot of old folks intentionally look to hang around younger guys as a way to stay current and appreciate a younger person's perspectives. Just a thought. Also, a lot of older guys can still move very, very well.

Read trip reports of solo paddlers. When you find a trip report that sounds like something you would have liked PM the author and suggest a group solo.
