I almost got out for an end of the year paddle the other day but didn't have a chance to get the boat out of storage. So I finished off a couple of pairs of snowshoes hoping I'd be able to finally put them to use, besides using them as Christmas presents. The first pic is the pair I made for my grandson. They turned out pretty well considering this was the first of this size and style I have tried. Now I just have to finish making the bindings before the snow gets here. The second pic shows my grandson is eagerly waiting to use them too.

I'll try posting the second pic again. I have been trying to post these pics for over a day. Before I get them saved, I get a pop-up saying the site is under maintenance.

Guess not. Messageboard maintenance issues again.

Nice job on the shoes, I'm sure you just went to the top of your grandsons list. Did you use a whip finish with cordage on the tips.

Yeah, it adds a nice, little touch but also serves as a little bumper pad to an area that always gets dinged.
