Curtain Falls in June... high water! Now my background, looks as if the water is going to run right out of the screen...

This picture was taken on the portage landing on missing link coming from round lake. All I can say is that everyone should take a trip this time of year just to see all the colors.

You can almost hear the thunder and feel the mist on your face! This photo was taken at Canyon Falls at the Northern end of "The Falls Chain" Quetico Provincial Park, August 2005

"Gateway to Little Jean"

Photo taken 6/21/04 from SE Jean Lake. View is looking south. The granite shelf marks a campsite. Beyond lies a narrows leading into Little Jean Lake.

This site was the location of a mention in the BWJ readers forum (in a recent issue re: fishing stories). The writer talked about a bonanza of smallmouth action from that "rock". Apparently there is a drop off within casting distance. Wish I had known about it - LOL. There is an abandoned fishing shack back in the woods from the site.

Title: "A Different Era".

Something a little different this month. An old cabin near Crooked Lake. Can you imagine the solitude that the 'owner' experienced there! I'm glad it is no longer allowed, but it is interesting to see how the Earth takes it all back.

This was taken on Alice Lake near the western campsite on the north island. We call this a 'Jesus rock' for obvious reasons.

Hey sethrice-is this picture taken on Horseshoe Lake (the one near Caribou and Vista) at the campsite near where the Brule River exits to the east just north of Vista and east of the "T". It's taken at the campsite with all the cedars I think. Let me know if my memories are good. I stayed at this same campsite in October 2004.

Yes!! Just off off Vista and you go east on the T. This is a great camp site. There is some seclusion at that spot. We camped there two nights. If you continue east by the camp site, (to the back of the picture), there is a small rapid and it leads into a small swampy lake or where the Brule river exits. It was a nice little side trip.

There wasn't good fishing around that campsite, but we did see three moose crossing the lake about 100 yards west of the site. I defiantly would stay there again.

In October I saw a total of 7 Moose between Horseshoe and Vista Lakes including one taken by a hunter where Horseshoe turns north. I wonder if the Moose you saw is one of the ones we saw in October 04. There were a couple of Moose, Mom and yearling, who entertained us one night while we were at that site.
