On Friday September 2nd I'll be taking a 6:30 a.m. tow out
of Latourell's for my solo trip up to Knife Lake and then I'll
be getting picked up Tuesday September 6th at 3:00 p.m..
Since I have to pay a two person minimum I thought one of
you other soloists would like to pull another permit for this
trip and get a free tow in the process.

Nice offer but they should keep in mind that they'll likely charge something for the second canoe.

Nope, doesn't cost more. Just double checked with the outfitter.

I was stubborn and refused to pay double. Paddled from entry to border. A most boring stretch of water!

I enjoy that paddle. See eagles every time.

I always see eagles coming out of Inlet Bay. Must be the same ones.

The two person minimum led me to abandon Latourells after many decades of tows to Prairie Portage. I was often with groups of 3-5 guys, usually 2-3 times a year. But when I solo the two person charge drove me to Williams and Hall. They do not require me to pay the two person charge. In turn, my group trips now go through Williams and Hall also. I always liked Latourells and would go there again but have learned to like the new folks a lot.
You may want to check with W & H.

I did check W&H website but saw little difference. I would have stuck with LaTourell's anyhow since I've already reserved the tow. The offer stands.

I wonder if they'd allow the "2nd" to be used on the trip to pick you up? I asked off for the 5th through 11th
