Hello, I was wondering how long it has taken people in the past to get their RABC? I sent my application in in February and had my credit card charged over a month ago. Does it normally take this long to receive the permit? Is there a number I could call or an email address I can send a follow up to?

You should have gotten it by now if your credit card was charged that long ago, unless there is any sort of criminal record involved.

Usually around 4 weeks. I would do as GC suggest and make the call.

Anywhere from 2-3 weeks for me. I get mine renewed so I think it is faster than new applications.

I had the same situation last year. I called after about six weeks and they faxed me my permit and mailed another live copy.

They are usually very friendly and helpful.

Normally takes no more than three weeks for them to decline mine.

Thanks for the help, called the toll free number and they had "misplaced" my permit. Got a call back 30 mins later that located it and will be placing it in the mail, very friendly.

I could have sworn RABC permits used to be good for two years. When did they change it to one year?

Been one year for as long as I can remember, at least back to 2003.

It was some how you could get like 1.5 years or almost 2 years once. Some how it made a difference on when you got your permit. Got to think about this. I know often mine would be good for like 16 months. Can't remember quite how,but I do remember working the system so I got the extra time. It was like you got 1 year from issuing your permit than it went forward to your birthday date?

Come to think of it, I think it was good for one year from the time you got it, so I think I got a September trip and then a June trip the next year before it expired, or something like that, so maybe that's why I was thinking two years.

Some of mine have lasted for 16 months but that's because they want it to end (and renew) on your birthday. Now I just renew around my birthday.

I think they used to be more liberal on the expiration dates, not holding to a calendar year. So a few times even though it was a one year permit it would actually be for say 14 months. Depending on how many Q trips and when they were I was able to skip getting a permit a couple of times.

Just got mine in 2.5 weeks.

You might be thinking of the Outdoor Card. That one lasts a couple years.

You could almost get about 1.5 years out of them by buying like after your birthday that year or something.

I recall you could renew RABC by just sending in last year's and payment, never more than one year from date of issue as currently.

It was longer,because I figured out how you could get the extra months and I waited that time period and sent it in. Your birthday date and when you applied had a lot to do with it.
