Selling my solo so I can make a change. Nice boat with expected wear - no gouges or deep cuts. Comes with my custom made cover (made from ripstop nylon) for windy days. Located in the Des Moines area.

Asking $1000

I've never soloed before but I'm leaving May 18th for my first ever solo trip, in which I'm renting an Encounter from an outfitter. To be honest, it would probably be smarter if I just put that rental money toward your canoe, but I'm not sure my wife would go for that, especially since I have no idea if I'm going to take to solo tripping. Do you have a portage yoke for it? What year is your boat? Is that a skid plate on the front?

I can't say for sure right now what year it is, but I can take a look at the registration and get back to you. It does have skid plates on both ends. I have a yoke for it but hadn't planned on selling it...if you were to buy the boat and wanted to buy the yoke too, I'm sure we could figure something out.

Do what I do; do not tell your wife!

Don't tell your wife? Great recipe for distrust and/or divorce.

Tell your wife. Explain what it means to you. Explain that it's an investment in taking care of your health. She'll appreciate the conversation. She may disagree, but she'll appreciate the conversation.

I have never regretted buying water transportation. A couple of uses and the resale can be discounted for a quick sale. If you use it several trips, the canon/kayak pays for itself and the resale can be higher than a mark down for just a year or two because the price of new seems to go up each year. Decent care is assumed for good condition.

Hey Bdub could you send me some pictures of you cover? Specifically how you attach it to the canoe. I have been wanting to make one for my advantage but I do not want to drill holes in the hull.

You start getting in that price range and buy it and it stays in good condition you will get your money back on your investment almost. Not much to lose-just buy it. I am assuming the canoe is in good shape outside the normal scratches from usage.

The only other question and a big one is this the model you want?

In my case this is the solo I want to buy, I need a bigger boat with a lot of carrying capacity. Just depends if I get one from an outfitter or find one for sale on this site. It is in Iowa though so that may be an issue

I think I know this boat. It is a good one alright. If you can swing it, do it. Jesse is a great guy. The cover is a great addition.

Jesse... toss your email on here. It's not showing up at least on our phones. This format thing Adam has got going has some bugs that way. Or is it sold... if so mark it so...

EsoxFisher: "Is this canoe still available?"

This thread is four years old so I kind of doubt it.
