After some amazing trips to Knife the last 4 years we're gonna give the kids something different and head to Insula. I'm crossing my fingers we can get one of the sites with some sort of a beach. The boys will be 5 and 7 and going on their 3rd and 6th trips.

It's my older daughters turn (11) for the daddy/daughter trip this year. She wants to go in August (her last trip was in June and she did not like how bad the bugs where) and we have to wait and see what moms work schedule ends up being before we can book it. Looking at either Bower Trout, Crocodile, or Homer for that trip. Hoping to do an all family trip also this year. That could be a bwca trip or maybe an "on the edge" w/ doing daytrips into the bwca.

Will be taking my two boys 5 and 7 to crocodile also we are going to do a few day trips from East Bearskin. first time wife and kids will be going. wife has done some wilderness trips with me out West when we were younger and she was still courting me - this time I think she is doing it because she knows how much the boys want to experience the wilderness

Leaving in a week, entering at Skipper (technically Poplar) exiting at Cross Bay a week later.

Short July trip with Little Isabella River entry/exit. Hope the blueberries are ripe by then, and we can find some. :)

We took our very first family trip last summer using Tuscarora as our starting point (rented a large canoe from them and they helped us plan a trip - just base camped on Seagull). Kids are now ages 13, 9 and 7. Considering another trip but haven't planned yet...any suggestions? We loved not having to portage last year as we were new and it was enough to just get all our gear into one canoe and make our way across a large windy lake. We ended up with an awesome campsite and loved our stay. Any other similar type base camps available that you all know about? Or minor/manageable portages? We are traveling 10 hours to get there so will likely just camp 3 nights. Thank you for any tips/suggestions!

Taking my 5 year old for his first trip...just the 2 of us, right after July 4th weekend. Keeping it simple, 3 nights out on Seagull lake...maybe some day trips to Alpine. He already likes fishing, camping and paddling around in the canoe, so this should be fun for him.

Looking forward to many more in the years to come!

Crocodile Permit and Bunkhouse at Rockwood are now booked! Bower Trout was not open so I gave my daughter info on a few of the open Entry Points for our date and she picked the Croc!! She wants to relax, catch some walleye, and have a shore lunch with dad..... We are so excited and can't wait!!

My 8 yo isn't happy with H's choice because she wanted her next trip to be Crocodile but she doesn't want go somewhere that I've been with big sis.

Our summer has filled up fast and it does not look like we'll get up there with the whole family this summer :(. BUT... our daughters favorite "tradition" as they call it, is to spend MEA weekend in Grand Marais for Moose Madness. One of the days during our stay is always breakfast at Trail Center, then hike, canoe, shore fishing or a combo depending on what the weather is like, and then dinner at the Trail Center. This will be our 7th year of the Tradition ;)

My three kids are also (almost) 12, 10 and 7. Second year in the BW for them. They still talk about the huge storm on Ensign last year that rolled through at a 1 AM. Going to Disney next week but the kids have made a point of asking if we would still being going to the BW.

Going in Gabbro on July 23.

We are going in again but haven't settled on an EP. I'm thinking Kawishiwi Lake but it's only a thought at the moment. It might be for the 4th of July holiday or another weekend around that time.

Taking the wife and 5 year old to Kawishiwi lodge for a week and have permit reserved for Lake One. Probably just one night but we'll see as we get closer.

We stayed at Kawishiwi Lodge a few years ago when the girls were 7 and 5. We really liked it there. Our girls really liked the little kayaks at their beach. It was their first solo adventures on the water even though they didn't go very far :) Have fun!

Two trips on the books right now.

July 19th-5 days Dad and oldest daughter. Crab Lake and either doing the long portages route or a modified version adding in some additional lakes and making it longer.

Aug 25th-5 days-3 Dads, 5 girls. Likely Sawbill doing the Temperance River route through Cherokee and possibly adding Long lake/Cones/Bruel or something.

Fall trip???? I hope so.
