I added this Ascend kayak seat to my Merlin today.
As I have aged it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to spend long periods in my boat. I have tried 4 different seat positions and 3 different back rests. I think this one is a home run.

I have been paddling my boat with the seat up to the rails for quite some time and I am very comfortable in this position. This new seat is up to the rails and there is still room for me to get my feet under it for kneeling.

I left the bolts long for now in case I have to lower the seat.

Tomorrow will be the test run. I hope it feels great.

The verdict is in. Love this set up.

I will now make some wood drops and get the proper length bolts.

The seat feels great and after 4 hours of seat time there was no discomfort.
