I could use some guidance on prayer. What do you pray about or for? I'm looking extremely hard at deepening my faith, but I really struggle with this one.

For me prayer is a conversation with God! Matthew 6: 6-8 gives you direction on where and how to pray. Matthew 6: 9-13 is a prayer that Jesus taught His Disciples. One example or format I use is the Accronym ACTS, which stands for A - Adoration toward God, giving Him praise. C - Confession, confessing your sins and asking forgiveness. T - Thanksgiving, giving thanks to God for all He has provided and done for you. S - Supplication, praying for others and their needs! Hope this helps!

Thank you for giving me a place to start. I'd like to be more open and ask questions at church, but the opportunities never seem to be there. Any other guidance would be appreciated.

Probably the most important thing I do is to set aside each day, usually the first thing in the morning when I wake up to spend time in reading the Bible, a devotional, and praying. Here is the link to the website where I get my devotional. First15

It also has a guided prayer section, and suggested scripture reading.

The most important thing is to make your quiet time, yours... your time to talk to God, reflect on your actions, life, and how you relate to others. I am not going to give you a denominational lecture, what I am going to tell you is the fact that a personal relationship with Jesus is the most important thing. Or at least to me it is, it gives me the strength and knowledge to interact with other believers and fellowship with them. Good luck and feel free to ask any thing. God Bless!
