Looking for a solo partner to go with in September. My first trip in a solo canoe. I an a 60 y.o. canoeist, multiple trips over the years. Have all my own gear. Planning on a tow ride to Goose Narrow on the way in and on the way back out. Basswood River to Curtain Falls and back. Six day trip staying on the US side. Never been that way before, just want to see the area and try some fishing along the way. Entry date is flexible.

There might be a chance I would be interested. I've never gone solo either and debated going on my own or with someone else. Probably won't know what I will be doing until August. I'm hoping to find someone who knows how to catch fish in the fall since I can never catch them up there. Since I am from Nebraska, it would also be nice to find someone from Nebraska or western Iowa to drive up with so the 14 hour drive isn't so boring by myself. Also have all of my own gear and have done 4 trips with my dad who is in his 60's.

Hmmmm I have first week of September off. I am 54 so should be able to keep up.? Might have to do a meet and greet.

It depends on when everyone decides to go in but I may be around as well. Fishing in the fall is a hit-or-miss (at least I find it that way) but it hasn't stopped me from trying! I'll check back on this thread to see if dates firm up. I solo a lot but it's always nice to have company on one of these.

I am from the central IA areas so driving up with someone from NB would be good. I was thinking a mid Sept. entry date. Kind of an end of summer trip. I have a weeks vacation left so it would have to be a Saturday entry date and back out on the following Saturday or Sunday. I fished on Crooked the first part of June this year, coming in from Lac La Croix and only made it to Saturday Bay. That's the reason I wanted to start from the Basswood end.
