Nice report. Judging by the photo you took of your home state when you started the trip, I need to make my way down to Asheville.

Great trip report! Never been to the Ely side, although I have done a bit of shopping in Ely before. Great town. Bought my canoe through Piragis and arranged the pickup direct from Wenonah at the factory. They gave me a mini tour when I picked it up. Nice people.

I'm not too far behind you as I'm pushing 63 years old. Entering through Lizz Lake in a few weeks for a 10 day solo. Not sure where I'll end up, but really looking forward to the trip and a great burger at Trail Center! I usually solo these days.

Next time, rent a kevlar canoe and save yourself from carrying about 20 lbs!

I used to own a "Boundary Waters Wenonah" and I have to wonder why I'm trying to save $40 canoe rental - da!
