I have done a couple of joint solo trips. Next year thinking about doing a true solo trip.
not sure where to go yet but I am looking for a 5 or 6 day trip. Maybe not a loop trip but maybe starting at one entry and end up at another.
Please feel free to leave your opinions looking for something not to hard because I just had a knee replacement.

Hey Bob, how about a Seagull lake entry? There are like three short-ish portages out of seagull into alpine. Many camp sites to choose from. I looped through Sag when I was young, but would be very cautious about that big water in any wind. If you came back out on seagull You could come out on the opposite side of three mile island for a totally different look. Just a thought. pete

I'm going on my first solo and because it's my first solo I too want it easier so I'm going to entry point 30. It's a loop so not what you want. Just know it's easier then some

Bob: I would also suggest going in at Lake One and heading for Insula or Alice, coming out the way you came in. By the time you get to Hudson, the crowds are gone. Although you are going through the burn area from a few years ago, I was there two years ago and its really not that bad; there are many untouched campsites available. Not too many portages, and the longest one is 80 or 90 rods. The rest are much shorter. If you push, you can make Insula in one day, but its a very easy two day trip, and an easy 3 to Alice.

p.s. - With your knee, I would suggest getting a lighter boat ;-)
