Sigh, love this photo. ESPECIALLY since mine no longer resides in our barn. But a leaky old barn where I was constantly removing wasp nests and bird nests was not a fit place for such a lady!

Thank you. I had a new roof put on the pole barn this year to keep this old girl safe.

I just got back from a 3 week stay at my cabin. Great weather and a good time. On the last night I was outside enjoying the night sky. As I walked by the bird feeder something fluttered over my head and into the bird feeder. I thought it was a bat. Then another flying object seen in the light coming through the cabin landed in the feeder and then went up the tree. I turned on my headlight and looked up the tree. There were several sets of eyes staring down at me. I had never seen a Northern Flying Squirrel before but I figured that must be what I was seeing. I tried to get a couple of pictures but they were a bit shy and getting focus was hard in the dark. I just pulled a chair and watched the nocturnal squirrels flutter around. I can't believe I had not noticed them before.

Another nice shot! As long as we're in a wildlife theme, how about a small animal you don't see up there? Our resident armadillo; he's so ugly he's cute (LOL)!

Hobbydog and Mocha, two more really nice shots. As for the armadillo, gosh, I don't know what family they're in? But after seeing them for the last 20 years they'd migrated this far north, our latest has dug a few holes and set up housekeeping in our yard. Have a great weekend!

I would love to know the stories these places could tell. This was another one... A long forgotten baseball field near Long Lake SD. I tried to visualize a bunch of kids in the 1950's playing ball here. You know it is on the open prairie when the outhouse has to anchored down. :-)
