We have always gone in at Stanton Bay and are looking forward to doing the same in 2017. For some reason it isn't showing up as an EP on the Quetico or Ontario Parks websites. Have they closed it as an EP?

So I guess the number of permits on 12 is kind of a combo deal?

I ran into one of the Stanton shuttle operators this fall and he told me that he can get a permit even if the online permits are sold out for a particular day. And he did know I was from the states. They must have extra permits available for outfitters to issue. Good to know for future reference.

last time i used the stanton bay landing i understood it could only be used by canadian outfitters or people being transported by canadians. non-canadians could not park at the stanton bay landing. this was back in '08 so rules could have changed.

The same rule still applies.

when I used it last yr, we had an out of country permit, but was told that the outfitters have access to the native permits, even if using them for a states client
seemed odd, but good to know
and was also told that if there are native permits available the day you arrive, you can get them even though not from Canada.
