Does anyone have any intel on the portage(s) out of Stump into the river/lake area that eventually will take you to Brennan lake? I never made it further than Stump last year but from the maps I have and Google Earth it looked like a fairly easy portage out of Stump. Anyone been out that way? Thanks.

I have not been. It is mapped (as "Flindt Lake to Brennan Lake via Gault Lake") in volume 3 of the Wabakimi Canoe Route Maps (Wabakimi Project). Also it is part of the trip reported by this couple: http://www.canoeing.com/rendezvous/triplogs/triplog10_teatonwabakimi.htm
Looks like two carries (100 m and 304m) on river left, along with some moving water to negotiate. Campsites on south shorelines of Allan Water River and Brennan Lake.

Thanks! I have the map volume from WP. When I was at the northernmost campsite, it was a little disregarded from lack of use and hard to climb up to. Other than that, it was a great vantage point to look over Stump. To get to the first portage to AWR, it would have been necessary to climb out of my boat and line the canoe over some rocks where the water drained out the lake through a pinch of land. The stream beyond looked much deeper but I didn't have the time to explore (now I wish I had!).

I'll check out the trip report too.
