I am going to take a trip to Cuba next month. Anyone know of free maps available for download? I don't need great detail, just primarily roads.

Thanks to anyone who might know a source.

I just looked on my Street Maps North America chip for coverage and it's not listed.

How about Google map overlay if your GPS will do that?

Butthead: Thanks for the reminder of that option. My GPS will do that and you previously advised me on how to do it. Thanks again.

You might want to ask about the legality of possessing a mapping instrument in Cuba.

I'm home now and I looked at my GPS. It has Worldwide DEM Basemap installed from new. It shows the basic roads in Cuba, but not in detail. If you have a Garmin look in the map section and see if you have Worldwide DEM Basemap enabled.

I do have the worldwide map, but it doesn't show enough detail.

No intent on scaring anyone. Just consider what the CIA devoted to Cuban information in the 60's, a single tourist with a GPS can easily get today.

Hey it is a different country!
