I'm actually reviewing the ALPS Mountaineering Lynx 1 which is a freestanding, 2-pole design for a solo tent. Total weight is about 3 to 3 1/2 lbs depending on the number of stakes and guy lines that you incorporate into your stuff sack.
This is a great tent for 1 person. There is enough head room to sit up in the middle of the tent. There are two windows in the fly at either end to allow you to "see" the sky or what's going on outside the tent while snug in your bag.
The tent sets up easily with 2 crisscrossing poles that one central hook at the tent apex clips together. The fly pretty much covers the entire tent and kept me dry in some horrific downpours on Thomas Lake.
Highly recommend this as an economical option (less than $100 USD) for a one-person solo tent.
