This is the campsite that's above the falls. It's difficult to find as the fire grate is hidden behind a rock face; however that makes it a private site in a busy location. Access is not easy, but once up in the site, it is a great place to enjoy the falls from above & as well as a sunrise cup of coffee. I've stayed here twice in the last three years. It's been cleaned up considerably since the 2020 report. If you're hanging your food there's a large Norway Pine that works great. I'd rate it a 3+ / 4.

This camping area can be a bit confusing. There is a campsite right above the falls and another below. Cterrell's photos are the campsite I've labeled as above the falls. TuscaroraBorealis's photo is below the falls.
There is a footpath between the two, but both are private sites. Both campsites are accessed on their own side of the falls. The site below the falls is 5 star, the site above is 3 star IMO.
I did not see the two campsites farther south marked by smaller dots. I don't think they exist.

I believe this is the campsite on crooked lake below lower basswood falls. Plenty of room for several tents and nice canoe landing area.
