I really enjoyed this campsite. There are numerous good tent pads including a couple of grassy ones. You could easily spend a few days here. Great views, nice slopey landing, and numerous trails to explore.

Landing is sloped bedrock, firepit is fairly open with a nice rock table for dinner prep, tent pads abound. No real food hanging tree, so barrel or ursack it to a tree. Underbrush is mostly gone across the whole island, making walking around easy. Latrine is atop a hill overlooking the lake. One of the nicer sites i've had the privilege of staying at.

Nice Island site with great views of the sunset. Lots of traffic going by and other groups trying to land on the other side looking to take the site they didn't know was unoccupied. No problems with pests or bugs as we were there early in the year.

A centrally located island site that has a nice sloped landing leading to an open fire grate area that still provides a sheltered feel. Several nice tent pads. Trails spider webbing out in every direction begging to be explored.

Camp Notes:
Awesome little island with some opportunities for exploration, including a rocky fern gully along its northwest shore. There's a couple of decent pads for pitching a tent, and some good trees for hanging hammocks right in camp. We, however, didn't spend much time in the main camp, other than to sleep, because arctic northwest winds made it nearly untenable. Instead, we followed a spur of the latrine trail, up over the hill, to the east side of the island, which was sheltered from the wind. On the fishing opener, we caught a few lake trout casting from the island, between that next little island to the south and in the little bay on the back. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, and would probably feel differently about it if we had visited during a different time of the year.

Camp Notes:
Private island on beautiful Tuscarora with great views. Three decent pads for tents. Though, all spots had minor pooling during a heavy storm. Nice quiet nights, very little life on the island except for a couple of mice. We felt surprisingly sheltered during a storm one night and enjoyed the soft sounds of rippling water and distant loons the other nights. Semi-private latrine is up on a hill away from the camp and is sightly breezy to keep the bugs away. The camp's smooth rock shore has lots of sunshine and a great breeze. The area around the fire grate is less breezy, but has a large enough clearing to keep the bugs mild. There are a few great camps to choose on Tuscarora, this is definitely one of them! Enjoyed our relaxing stay here!

Private island campsite, west facing keeps the bugs away. We had a great time exploring the island. Tried fishing for Northern but didn't catch any fish from shore or in a nearby bay.

Three pads with room for more on the grass. Nice view from the grate. Trails to explore. Landings a bit tricky, and shore fishing isn't the best. Best thing this site has going for it is its central location on a beautiful lake.

Was forced to stay here due to a summer hail storm on my way to Crooked Lake. Site has beautiful western view with awesome smooth rock gently sloping into the water, but makes landing a little tricky. Underwater ledges make great "bathtub". Nicest kitchen set that I have seen with multiple rock tables and benches nestled up to a great view of the sunset over the fire grate. Plenty of tent space and fire wood, you just have to explore the island a little to find it. Flat rocks by the water work perfectly the stargazing. Glad I stopped here. Stayed 3 days. Saw noone.

Still a 5 star site. Many tent pads. Faces west for views of sunset. Wide open area around fire grate so bugs are not a problem. Stayed there two nights.
