Zion park, end of day to Bryce.

Angels landing hike, another preeminent lower 48 hike. U tube either zion narrows or angels landing to see various videos if you want. 5 miles round trip, all up, then all down, 1,520 vertical feet. Last 1/2 mile only for those with no fear of heights. Not hard technically, very stout chains make it relatively simple. However, one mistake in many parts on the knife ridge, you die, plain and simple. 1500' drop off both sides, many places the ridge is maybe 5'to 10' wide. Not being over dramatic, but very serious hiking for about 20 minutes, slow and deliberate, no problems at all. Boys went to top, girls stayed at scouts landing, still a pretty stiff hike, and great views.

The walk up and down has a lot of pretty stiff switchbacks, not sure if this pic does them justice, but they are steeeeeeeeep. Note how close we are together and the drop involved.

Headed out of park east, thru 1 mile zion tunnel, engineering marvel constructed in the 30's to Bryce Canyon. Had to do one more hike, the canyon overlook trail to great view.

After the hike, my daughter sees this wild rocky mountain big horn sheep casually posing for us on this nob, a little surreal.

Drove to Bryce area, thru red canyon, another cool looking place to visit. Ate at Bryce canyon Pines resturant, west of Bryce on 12, really good meals, killer pies for dessert. Another double dinner place, it was that tasty. Checked out a little of Bryce before dark.
