Breakfast at Camp Easton. Picked up canoe and left Ely at 11 A. M. for the Echo Trail and Crane Lake. Lunch at Headquarters Resort by the Voyageur Statue near Crane Lake. Departed on canoe trip 1:25 P. M.



and went through Canadian Customs at 3:30.

Made camp 5 P. M. at the headwaters of the Little Vermilion Lake. Blueberries all around. Saw two otter or mink just before we made camp. Neil got two bee-stings. Weather all day was gorgeous (but cool.)
