Woke early, due to going to bed at 10 and started packing up while Carmen and Alex slept. Decided to paddle the lake and made it just past the island sites. All were taken (by motor boats), except for the site on the peninsula (which by the way had a fly issue also). Made it back to camp to enjoy the coffee Carmen was finally able to locate and fought the flies packing up. Carmen was nice enough to point out the bite I had on my inner eye. Got back to the jeep and packed very quickly. Went into Mercer and my sister treated us to Subway. Took highway W to Michigan going through Presque Isle, what a beautiful drive, with all kinds of canoe routes. Once in Michigan we stopped at Bobcat Campground, which we gave a 3/5 rating. On to the Sylvania Wilderness, were we grabbed more information for the following day’s activities. We then continued through Watersmeet and stopped at the Burned Dam Campground (4.5/5 due to no water, but free). Set up camp and went and investigated Marion Lake C.G. (5/5) to collect some water. Back to Watersmeet to grab some supplies and went back to camp. I went down to the Mex-I-mee falls , located adjacent to the campground, and swam until supper time. Sis cooked up pork chops and veggies for dinner. Then we went to see the Paulding Lights (1/5), which I didn’t think was very impressive and had 20 – 30 city slickers wedging in front of me. Came back to camp and crashed.
